Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign ministry spokesman reacted to the US and European Troika's recent move in offering an anti-Iran resolution on BOG and called it the measure aimed at exerting political pressure on Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the United States and three European countries' move in offering the proposal to issue a resolution against Iran in the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, emphasizing: "The original founders of this resolution have suggested its approval by abusing the recent situation, with the motive and purpose of exerting political pressure on Iran."

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the action of four countries, the United States, Britain, France, and Germany, in proposing a resolution against Iran in the International Atomic Energy Agency, stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has condemned the move of the United States and three European countries, Britain, France and Germany, in proposing an anti-Iranian resolution to the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency and considers it unacceptable."

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: "While in recent weeks, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has been talking and interacting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency in order to find a practical solution to solve the complex and technical issues of safeguards, there is no justified technical reason or security urgency to submit a resolution against Iran."

Kanaani stressed: "There is no doubt that the United States, Britain, France and Germany, as the main founders of this anti-Iranian resolution, have proposed the approval of this resolution to the Council of Governors by abusing the recent situation, with the sole motive and purpose of exerting political pressure on Iran. An action that will have a negative impact on the process of technical resolution of issues considered by the IAEA."

The spokesperson of IRIMFA further stated: "The presentation of this unnecessary and destructive resolution and the political abuse of the position and capacity of the International Atomic Energy Agency by the United States and three European countries have once again clearly demonstrated the real intention of these countries to advance their conspiracies and political goals."

Kanaani added that Tehran expects independent countries not to go along with this resolution and declare their position clearly.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to implementing the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and continuing to cooperate with the IAEA based on this agreement. We should not forget the fact that the uninterrupted implementation of safeguards and extensive verification activities of the IAEA in Iran during the last two decades has been possible only in the light of Iran's cooperation and goodwill."

In the end, Kanaani emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, while adhering to the principle of faithfulness to the implementation of its international obligations, will be determined and stable in defending the interests and rights of the country and confronting the pressures and excesses of the United States and Western countries adding: "Undoubtedly, in case of the approval of the resolution, Tehran's response will be decisive and effective."
