Tehran (IP) - The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation said that Iran and Russia have planned a process of achieving $40 billion in trade.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the Iran-Russia trade conference on Tuesday, Sergey Katyrin said that today, more than 100 businessmen and entrepreneurs from Russia are present in Tehran and are ready to develop a plan for provincial relations between the two countries.

Katyrin called the exchange of information between businessmen very important, adding: "Decisions were made in the Russian commerce chamber to increase the level of relations with the Iranian side."

He noted that the Russian markets are open to friendly countries, including Iran, and with the withdrawal of some Western countries from Russia, Iranian companies are a good alternative in the Russian markets, and the Russian government will continue to support these companies.

The governmental officials and commercial and economic activists of Iran and Russia, including the Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam-Hossein Shafeie, the Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexey Dedov, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy of Iran Mehdi Safari, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin and a number of other officials from the two countries attended the conference held on November 15, 2022.

Earlier on November 2, Iran's Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mehdi Safari said that around 6.5 billion dollars of the memorandum of understanding with the Russian Gazprom have been converted into contracts and the rest of the memorandums worth 40 billion dollars will be finalized in the next month.
