In a conversation with his Italian counterpart, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that the principled and unchangeable policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to end the war in Ukraine while continuing efforts to help advance the political process.

Iran PressIran News: In the phone call between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, the latest developments in bilateral, international and regional relations were discussed.

Amir Abdollahian congratulated Tajani on his appointment as the foreign minister of Italy and expressed hope for the expansion of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

Iranian top diplomat appreciated Italy for its position in condemning the terrorist act of ISIS in the shrine of Hazrat Shahcheragh (AS) in Shiraz and called on the international community to take responsibility in dealing with this sinister phenomenon.

In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian also explained the latest status of negotiations and cooperation between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran.

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs also stated: "Iran and Italy are heirs of ancient civilizations and can have extensive and growing relations.

He also emphasized the importance of the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in promoting peace and stability in the West Asian region.

He said about the negotiations to lift the sanctions: Italy will make every effort to reach an agreement that will provide the interests of all parties.219
