Iran Press/ Asia: In an interview with Iran Press in Dushanbe about the results of holding the cultural weeks of Iran and Tajikistan in the two countries, Mohammad-Taqi Saberi stated that in the new period for the development of relations, the events of the cultural week are very significant.
He noted that the cultural week of Tajikistan was held in Iran after about 14 years and the cultural week of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in Tajikistan after about 11 years and it was widely welcomed by the people.
The Iranian envoy pointed out that holding Iran's cultural week in Tajikistan and the good reception of the Tajik people is another starting point for developing activities, and concerning cultural partnerships, the holding of cultural weeks will show its results in the coming months.
He highlighted that during the visit of the Minister of Culture and Guidance of Iran to Dushanbe and the visit of the Minister of Culture of Tajikistan to Iran, both sides underlined expanding relations in all dimensions.
Saberi said that what is important now is the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tajikistan to develop ties in all fields, and the two countries had good economic and political cooperation in the last few years.
He added that Iran was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Tajikistan and was the first country to open its embassy in Dushanbe.
He explained that the Islamic Republic of Iran had good participation in the development of Tajikistan's infrastructure and had played a role in the construction of the Sang Tudeh 2 hydropower plant and the construction of the Esteghlal Tunnel.
