Mahabad (IP) - The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) reported the seizure of a cargo of weapons and ammunition in northwestern Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The IRGC's Hamzeh Sayyedol Shohada Headquarters stated that the cargo seized in Mahabad included many US-made guns such as Winchester.

According to IRGC, the smugglers tried to traffic the weapons to the central parts of Iran and distribute them among the rioters in the unrest.

Meanwhile, in another statement on Sunday, IRGC reported the arrest of three terrorist teams affiliated with the MKO, who planned to carry out acts of sabotage in Khuzestan, Fars, and Isfahan, respectively, in southwestern, southern, and central Iran.

Unrest in Iran began with the death of a young girl, Mahsa Amin, and was fueled by the foreign-backed media and interventions of some western countries.

The Western countries led by the US stepped in under the motto of democracy and protecting the Iranian people's rights and spared no effort to support the rioters under the very pretext.
