Tehran (IP) - Iran is firmly implementing the long-term roadmap of cooperation with Venezuela, says the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Iran PressIran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian remarked at the first Forum of National Coordinators of the Group of Friends for Defending UN Charter that got started on Saturday in Tehran. 

Algeria, Angola, Belarus, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, North Korea, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Iran, Laos, Nicaragua, Palestine, Russia, Saint Vincent, and the Grenadines, Syria, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe are the member states of the group. 

Meeting with the Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Julio Ron Martinez on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian referred to the delegation exchange between the two countries in the past year and noted the issue would communicate a strong message of unity between Iran and Venezuela to the world. 

Martinez, for his part, stressed the unanimity against unilateralism in the world and said that Venezuela was committed to the agreements signed with Iran. 

Formed in 2021, the group aimed at protecting, promoting, and defending the superiority and credit of the UN Charter, with the participation of 19 countries, including Iran.   

The two countries are enduring the US unilateral sanctions and have common positions in recognizing the rights of the Palestinian nation to have a free country.
