Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran and the Minister of Regional Management and Infrastructure of Armenia agreed to create a new transit corridor between Armenia and the Persian Gulf from East Azerbaijan.

For this reason, Armenia enjoys a good position in economic and trade relations with Iran among the neighboring countries.

According to Iran Press, in the meeting between Iran's Road and Urban Development Minister Rostam Ghasemi and Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan in Tehran, it was decided that Iranian companies would cooperate with Armenia in the construction of tunnels, roads, and buildings.

Ghasemi and Sanosyan also agreed to complete and develop the north-south corridor from Norduz border to Warzghan and Tabriz.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran and the Minister of Regional Management and Infrastructure of Armenia agreed to start the construction of the 7.2 km Kajaran tunnel in the spring of 2023 by Iranian companies in Armenia.

Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Regional Management and Infrastructure of Armenia, has traveled to Tehran together with Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of this country.
