Fourteen people were shot, including three children, Monday night in East Garfield Park on the West Side, Chicago police said.

Iran PressAmerica: The children’s ages are 3, 11 and 13, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown told reporters. The other victims’ ages were not released.

The shooting occurred as people gathered about 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Flournoy Street, police said.

All the victims were taken to various hospitals with injuries ranging from critical condition to not-life-threatening, police said. The largest number of wounded were taken to Stroger Hospital.

Another person was struck by a car, police said.

“We know it’s a drive-by. We know it happened in just a few seconds,” Brown said, adding that the shooter aimed randomly into the crowd, which consisted of some dressed in Halloween costumes. “We do not have any motive,” he said.

He said officers believe there were two shooters.

No one was in custody as police remained at the scene more than two hours later.
