Hormozgan (IP) - Chief justice of Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, announced the seizure of a foreign oil tanker carrying 11 million litres of smuggled fuel in the Persian Gulf.

Iran PressIran News: Chief Justice of Hormozgan Province, Mojtabi Ghahremani said that the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) navy seized a foreign oil tanker carrying 11 million liters of smuggled fuel in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

Ghahremani stated that the seizure of the foreign vessel was done after a month of detailed technical and intelligence mission, adding that the captain and crew of this foreign tanker are in custody to complete the investigation process and legal procedures.

The chief justice of Hormozgan Province stated: "The vessels that supplied fuel to the seized oil tanker will also be prosecuted."

The chief justice of Hormozgan Province emphasized: "The criminal actions of fuel smugglers who have attempted to loot national funds will not remain unnoticed by the information umbrella of the judicial system and law enforcement officers, and the punishment for the perpetrators of such crimes will be decisive."
