Iran Press/ Iran News: Second Brigadier General Ahmad Taheri announced on Sunday that the police forces in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province could identify an armed drug-trafficking gang who were trying to transfer a big consignment of narcotics from Chabahar County into the central parts of Iran.
He highlighted that three smugglers had been captured, and 1.193 tons of opium were confiscated during the operation.
Iran is at the forefront of the fight against drug trafficking. Thousands of Iranian forces have been killed so far to protect the world from the danger of drugs.
Despite high economic and human costs, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been actively fighting against drug trafficking over the past decades.
