Lebanon (IP) - The Secretary-General of Lebanon's Hezbollah terms the maritime delimitation as a major and historic victory for the Lebanese state, people, and Resistance.

Iran PressMiddle East: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a speech on Saturday evening to speak in detail about recent political developments and the maritime border demarcation.

Sayyed Nasrallah said: The land border between the occupied Palestine and Lebanon was drawn by the French and British mandates, but no maritime boundaries have so far been demarcated.

After suggesting a few years ago that oil and gas exist, Lebanon was in need of demarcating its maritime boundaries, he recalled.

He stressed the identification of Lebanon's gas and oil blocks after the maritime demarcation, saying: "The Lebanese state has considered Line 23 as its maritime boundary but has kept the door open to any adjustment."

"Those demanding Line 29 should've started their political struggle since 01/10/2011 when the Lebanese state adopted Line 23, but in case the Lebanese state adopted Line 29, then the Resistance will have to fight until liberating all maritime areas north this line."

The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah said that the US administration banned the companies that pledged to operate in the southern blocks over the past years.

There is something called the regional waters, and there are the adjacent waters, after which there is the exclusive economic zone, Sayyed Nasrallah explained and pointed out that the regional waters were part of the Lebanese state over which it had full sovereignty and the right to use its resources.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Thursday that the country managed to obtain all its rights from the southern maritime border demarcation.
