Tehran (IP) – Following the deadly terrorist attack in Iran's Shiraz, various states, groups and political figures have condemned the act and offered condolences to Iran.

António Guterres has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh Holy Shrine in Shiraz, Islamic Republic of Iran. He noted that the actions in which religious centers are targeted are heinous actions.

The UN chief's remarks came after his spokesman Stephane Dujarric condemned the terrorist act in Shiraz shortly after the attack.

Oman condemns terrorist attack on Iran's Shah Cheragh Shrine

In a statement on Thursday, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered condolences to the nation and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran over last night's attack on the Shah Cheragh Holy Shrine in Shiraz.

The statement underlined the firm stance of the Sultanate of Oman in condemning violence and terrorism in all forms.

Fifteen pilgrims lost their lives and at least 40 others were wounded after an armed terrorist opened indiscriminate fire at Shah Cheragh, a highly revered Shia shrine in the southwestern city of Shiraz, Fars Province, on Wednesday.

Fars news agency says the terrorist behind the attack has been reported dead, but it has not been officially confirmed.
