Chicago police confirm that three people have died and two others were wounded in a mass shooting Sunday morning on the city's Southwest Side.

Iran PressAmerica: According to police, there were nearly 100 active participants and spectators at a drag racing event at the 4300 block of South Kedzie Avenue around 3:58 a.m. which resulted in an individual firing shots. Police say the incident may have been gang affiliated.

A man self-transported to Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest and left thigh. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Another man, 20, was transported to Mount Sinai hospital with two gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was also later pronounced dead.

A 20-year-old man was also transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with one gunshot wound to his chest and two gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was also pronounced dead.

Two other men, 21 and 19, were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and are still listed in critical condition. The 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh and the 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
