Iran Press/ Iran News: Second indigenous Self-Shielding Gamma Irradiation System was unveiled on Wednesday in the presence of Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and a group of AEOI assistant directors and managers of this organization.
According to Iran Press News Agency, "Mohammed Eslami," head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, at the unveiling ceremony of the second domestic Gamma Irradiation System, pointed out that nuclear technology has an extensive range of applications, added: Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is witnessing speedy progress in the nuclear industry.
Recalling the emphasis of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as well as the comprehensive document approved by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Eslami announced the expansion of the peaceful nuclear industry on the agenda of this organization, and it is expanding more and more in the application of technologies.
Pointing to the critical use of radiation in food security and public health, the Vice President stated: "The only way that the world has been using for decades is gamma ray irradiation, and that is why special attention has been paid to this issue."
The head of AEOI emphasized that the design and engineering work of the Self-Shielding Gamma Irradiation System and its construction was done by domestic knowledge-based companies and said: " This system has a very wide range of application and will be expanded in the country with the study plan that has been carried out and also by identifying the centers of production and logistics of agricultural products."
