Tehran (IP) - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has underlined that the elite is one of the most important human assets of the country and stated: "Elite youth, wherever they are, create hope".

Iran PressIran news: A group of elites and top scientific talents were received by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on Wednesday morning.

In this meeting, the Leader of the Revolution said: "I am very grateful to the Almighty God that after this corona problem eased, this lively and hopeful meeting was held once again. Truly, the presence of you young people, especially you elite youth, is the creator of hope. It means that your presence wherever you are will create hope".

The Leader noted: "This is why those who do not agree with the progress of the country do not agree with your presence where you should be present."

Emphasizing that the elite is one of the most important human assets of the country, the leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "Natural resources are important, geographical locations are important, the climate is important, all of these are important, but one of the most important human assets of the country is the existence of the elite. The elite should be considered a huge wealth. When we consider it as a huge wealth, we try to produce it."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution considered the university to be an important pillar of the country's progress, and emphasizing that scientific elites mainly occupy the university, stated: "If you see that at various times - not only yesterday and the day before - attempts have been made to close universities and classes and the students don't go to class, the professor doesn't go, etc., this is due to the fact that the university plays an essential role."

Ayatollah Khamenei underscored: "A person who threatens the professor on the phone that if you go to class you will face consequences - it is not clear that he himself is the main factor, the factor behind the scenes is important - this is because they can make the university lame, closed and ruined as much as possible, it is a significant opportunity for the enemies of the country and for the enemies of the progress of the country."

The Leader considered the university as one of the biggest obstacles against the domination of arrogance and stressed: "We must know that the world's powerful states aim to dominate, by what means? One day with weapons, one day with deception, one day with science, they will dominate with science. The university prevents domination, that is, if you can raise the level of science in the country, you have created an obstacle against the domination of the enemy."

With Islamic revolution, ground for elitism was created

The Leader of the revolution also emphasized: "I say with all conviction and with the ability to prove that with the Islamic revolution, the ground for elitism was created. We should really thank the academics for not letting us remain dependent on Westerners."

Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say: "In order for the elite to be able to express that innate talent and find the opportunity to try, a context is necessary. Sometimes he/she is elite and ready to work, but he/she is not given the opportunity. This field did not exist during the Pahlavi era, if it did exist, it was not among the official policies of the Pahlavi era, the field did not exist. Many of them had good talents, they were ready to try, but they were marginalized. Since the beginning of the revolution, I was present among students and academic centers, University of Tehran and other universities, and I had constant meetings with professors, students, etc. Elitism was provided with Islamic Revolution.

The Leader of the revolution pointed to the quantitative and qualitative development of universities in the country after the victory of the Islamic revolution and stressed: "About twenty-five times the number of students in the country have grown, twenty-five times is a lot. In the first years of the revolution, around 1980-81, as I remember, there were about 5,000 professors in the country. Now it is more than 100,000."

The Leader described the development of science in the country as valuable and considered it one of the grounds for elitism and added: "We should thank the academics themselves; Our academics did not let us remain dependent on Westerners."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "Without exaggeration, we must say that our academic elites became a source of honor for Iran. You are the young generation of elites. Before you, there were many elites, generations before you, in these 40 years, who brought honor to the country. In every problem, our scientists entered and focused, they did something that was admired in the scientific circles of the world."

Enumerating some of the achievements of Iranian scientists, he added: "The research and achievements of the Royan Research Institute, not only in the issue of stem cells, [but] in the simulation of living animals, was a rare thing in the world, this happened."

The Leader of the revolution cited the transfer of satellites into space, which was in the hands of several countries, as another example of these successes and stated: "Many countries have satellites in space, but they are not theirs, they did not launch them themselves. Those who launched themselves are few countries. Of course, we are behind, but we launched, we managed, we went. Our scientists concentrated."

The Leader mentioned the creation of humanoid robots at the University of Tehran and fundamental achievements in the nuclear industry and emphasized: "We have achieved fundamental issues in the nuclear industry. We are not looking for their weapons and bombs, but this industry itself has many blessings. We were able to achieve."

The Leader of the revolution pointed out: "The manufacture of advanced missile and drone equipment, which a few years ago when its photos were published, they said it was Photoshop. Now they say that Iranian drones are very dangerous. Why do you sell to someone, give to someone?

He considered the development of complex vaccines, especially the corona vaccine, as another example of the achievements of Iranian scientists in various fields and emphasized: "These are the works done by the Iranian elite and this is a credit to the country."
