According to the Gaza government, Israel has allowed only 14% of the required humanitarian aid into Gaza in the last eight days.

Why it matters:

This situation highlights the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where the population is facing dire shortages of essential supplies. The limited aid access exacerbates the ongoing suffering of the people, who have been enduring a prolonged blockade and military aggression by the Israeli Zionist regime.

The big picture:

According to a statement from the Gaza government's media office, since the Israeli occupation announced on July 27 that it would allow aid into Gaza, only 674 out of approximately 4,800 trucks planned to deliver essential humanitarian supplies have entered the region. This represents a mere 14% of the requested aid, with an average of only 84 trucks entering daily.

What they are saying:

The Gaza government emphasized that the actual daily needs of the region, given the complete collapse of infrastructure and ongoing genocidal warfare, are estimated to require at least 600 trucks of aid and fuel to meet basic living necessities in health, services, and food. The statement condemned the systematic hunger, closure of crossings, and prevention of infant formula and humanitarian aid from entering.
