Tehran (IP) – Iran's Foreign Minister described the presence of foreign forces in the Caucasus region as a common concern for the regional states, underlining Iran’s opposition to deployment of any foreign forces in the region.

Iran PressIran News: During a phone call with his Azeri counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed the most important bilateral, regional and international issues.

The Iranian foreign minister praised the recent meeting between Iranian and Azeri presidents on the sidelines of the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

He referred to the recent developments in the Caucasus and underlined supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries, including Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Bayramov, for his part, hailed his country's ties with Iran.

He expressed his opposition to foreign forces’ presence in the region and backed Iran’s stance in this regard.
