Islamabad (IP) – On the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of the beloved prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), a seminar honoring Hafez Shirazi, an Iranian poet, was held at the cultural consultation center of the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Iran PressAsia: Scientific and cultural figures and Pakistani professors of Persian language and literature attended the seminar to commemorate Hafez Shirazi. The participants elaborated on the character of the beloved Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and, following his example, called for the unity and empathy of the Islamic Ummah.

The Cultural attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan, Ehsan Khazaei, said in the seminar that the auspicious birth of the holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was the beginning of an excellent movement for the guidance and happiness of humanity.

Considering the simultaneity of the birthday of the beloved Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and the commemoration of Hafez Shirazi, he pointed out the role and position of Hafez among Iranians and noted that the book of Diwan Hafez is in the homes of Iranian people and this poet has a high status among Iranians.

He stated that Iranian poets have written poems about the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), and Hafez Shirazi has also written poems describing and explaining the position of the holy Prophet.

Razia Akbar, professor of Persian language and literature in Pakistan, told Iran Press reporter in Islamabad about Hafez Shirazi's position: "Hafez Shirazi is a poet of love, friendship, peace and reconciliation."

She noted that Hafez Shirazi had a deep inclination towards the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and the Holy Qur'an, which is why he is famous among the people.

She highlighted that Hafez Shirazi advises the people, and if these advices are followed, a peaceful society will be created.

Mohammad Safir, the head of the Persian literature department of the Namal University of Pakistan, also told the Iran Press reporter that Hafez Shirazi brought the Ghazal to its peak and is a model for today's poets.
