Iran Press/ Iran News: Iraq's House of Representatives elected, today, Thursday, Abdul Latif Rashid, as President of the Republic, after obtaining the majority of votes in the second round of the voting process for the position in which he competed with candidate Barham Salih.
In a message of congratulation to Abdul Latif Rashid, Iran's president Ebrahim Raisi expressed hope that the new administration of Iraq could take measures to expand the relations between Tehran and Baghdad further.
Raisi stressed that Iran has always supported the political process in Iraq based on people's votes and has been trying to expand brotherly relations with the country.
