Iran Press/ Iran news: About 32,000 tons of stone from 500 mines and 29 provinces of Iran and some representatives of foreign companies displayed their latest achievements and capabilities at the 14th Iran International Stone Exhibition.
The ambassador of Cuba and the ambassador of Bolivia to Iran, the head of the Ugandan embassy in Tehran, Ronald Tumwine, and the Tunisian chargé d'affaires in Tehran, Mohammad Al-khames Shabani, visited the exhibition.
Ambassador of Cuba to Tehran Alberto Gonzalez Casals, while visiting the exhibition, stated that the exhibition is of good quality and that Cuba does not have strong mines like Iran and is ready to buy Iranian products.
He noted that Cuba has always used Iranian products, and an exhibition of Iranian products will be held in Cuba by the beginning of next year, and one of its important parts is mining.
While visiting the exhibition, the Nicaraguan Ambassador to Tehran, Isaac Lenin Bravo, underlined that as Tehran's ally, Latin America should play a more important role in expanding relations with Iran.
Stating that Markazi Province is the capital of Iran's industry, he said: "We are in a historical moment of strengthening Iran's relations with Latin America."
He pointed out that despite the pressures and sanctions, Iran has been able to produce the science and technology it needs.
Iran's International Stone Exhibition was opened in Nimvar of Mahallat on Tuesday and will be open until October 14, 2022. Mahallat in the Markazi Province is the center of the production of marble in Iran.
There are about 70 active stone mines in Mahallat, whose mineral reserve is about 30 million tons, and the annual harvest from these mines is 2 million tons.
More than 2% of the world's construction stone and 8% of travertine stone are produced in Mahallat, and 280 processing units with a capacity of 18 million square meters of stone are operating in Mahallat, which accounts for 13% of Iran's production in this area.
