Afghanistan (IP) - Afghan religious and cultural figure says the world's Muslims have no choice but to shore up their unity and solidarity.

Iran PressAsia: Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Revani Bamiani told Iran Press correspondent in Kabul that following the instructions of the Holy Qur'an, the Prophet's behavior and the call of religious leaders, including Imam Khomeini are the way to achieve the unity of the Islamic world.

The Head of Afghanistan's Council of Shia Scholars recalled that the holy Prophet of Islam concluded a brotherhood pact between the Muslims, which is indicative of the significance of Muslim unity.

The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was born on the 17th of the lunar month Rabi' al-Awwal according to Shia tradition. The Sunni tradition, on the other hand, believes his birth to be on Rabi’ al-Awwal 12th.

The Muslim World celebrates the day between the two dates as Islamic Unity Week, as established by the late Imam Khomeini(RA).

Based on the Sunni Muslims' narration Rabi I 12 is the birthday of the Grand Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH), and based on the Shia Muslims' narration Rabi 17 is the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
