Thailand (IP) - Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) says it has accepted Iran's demand to host the 2023 Asian Men's Volleyball Championships.

Iran PressAsia: The AVC has proposed the first 10-days of August 2023 for the competitions, and the Iranian Volleyball Federation is expected to announce the final timetable for the event according to the Iranian calendar. 

The Iranian men's volleyball team started its snatching medal with a bronze in 2003 competitions and, after that, won gold in 2011, 2013, 2019, and 2021 in the Asian competitions.

In 2009 and 2015 also, the team snatched silver, standing second in Asia. 

VAC has so far held 21 rounds of the competitions, with 12 countries hosting the event, out of which the Islamic Republic of Iran hosted the competitions in 1999, 2011, 2015, and 2019.
