Tehran(IP)- Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, in today's Parliament Open Session explained the reasons behind legal gap on cars scrapping in Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin, in today's Parliament Open Session, while reviewing the generalities of the emergency bill to add a note to Article (10) of the Automobile Industry Organization Law approved in 1401, said:

"In the mechanism of the Automobile Industry Law, which was approved in 2018 and for some reasons has not been promulgated until today It was said that the production of the car should be connected to its scrapping, and this created a legal gap."

He explained: "In fact, if the scrapping certificate was not issued, the production of the car would have been stopped, which we have witnessed in the last two years.  And in case It would not have been not issued, one and a half percent of the production should be deposited into a fund and its resources should be spent on scrapping the car."

This cabinet member of the 13th administration continued: "Since recycling is considered an industry and the chain must be coordinated, in order to clear the ambiguity of which institution is responsible for scrapping, it was emphasized in the law that the responsibility lies with the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, other wise there would be a disruption in the process of production and scrapping."
