Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister says the JCPOA negotiations for lifting the sanctions on Iran are in their appropriate route.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's international nuclear agreement or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (Russia, China, UK, Germany, France, and the US) in 2015, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said that whenever Iran felt that the agreement reached a point where the red lines were fully respected. Economic benefit could be gained from returning to the JCPOA; it could be said that the deal was reached.

Amir-Abdollahian noted that if the US continued to proceed based on the partly common realistic understanding gained so far, an agreement would be available for Iran and the other sides.

The talks on the revival of lifting sanctions on Iran have been prolonged by the Western parties' hesitations, especially the US, to compensate for the unilateral withdrawal of the US from the JCPOA.

The Islamic Republic of Iran stresses the verification of lifting sanctions, the guarantees regarding the permanence of the JCPOA, and the termination of the safeguard-related allegations by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as its main demands.
