Iran Press/ Iran News: Regarding the interventionist positions of the Speaker of the Norwegian Parliament regarding the internal developments of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Norwegian Ambassador to Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Director General of Western Europe on Saturday.
In the meeting, the strong objection of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the prejudicial and far from reality statements of the Speaker of the Norwegian parliament regarding the recent unrest was communicated to the ambassador, and it was emphasized that these non- constructive comments are considered to interfere in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In response, the Norwegian ambassador said he would report the situation to Oslo as soon as possible.
Mahsa Amini is a name that has hit the headlines over the past days for her death at hospital days after the Iranian police took her over her non-compliance with the Islamic dress code. While demonstrations have been held across the country, demanding clarification regarding her death, there have been violent protests and riots, leading to attacks on police and acts of vandalism against public property.
Iranian officials say organized groups are exploiting the death of Mahsa Amini to incite chaos and wreak havoc across the country. On Friday, returning from New York, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said people will be heard if they have the right word. He noted that jeopardizing public security will not be tolerated.
