Iran Press/ Iran news: Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the Secretary General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, in a statement criticized those who are trying to normalize relations with the Israeli regime and recognize it, emphasizing that the gradual decline of this regime is becoming visible day by day.
From September 16 to 18, 1982, Zionist soldiers attacked the two Palestinian camps of Sabra and Shatila, which had more than 20,000 people, and massacred their residents.
During the Israeli regime's crime in Sabra and Shatila, a large number of their residents, both men and women, children and the elderly, were martyred, most of them were Palestinians and some were Lebanese.
The crime of the Zionists and their mercenaries against the residents of Sabra and Shatila camps continued for three consecutive days and the number of people killed in this barbaric attack is estimated to be between 3,500 to 5,000 people.
Ali Akbar Velayati, the Secretary General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, on Sunday, in a statement on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the massacre of the oppressed Palestinian people in Sabra and Shatila, emphasized: "This act has defamed usurping Zionist regime since its establishment and one of the most important indicators of the lack of legitimacy and international acceptance is the tyrants and oppressors of this regime."
Velayati added: "These days when the Palestinian resistance has chosen the path of resistance as the only solution to bring about the gradual disintegration and collapse of this brutal regime, some governments ruling the countries of the region, instead of supporting the Palestinian cause as the most important and first issue of the Islamic world, are once again stabbing the lofty goals of Palestine as the heart of the Islamic world by breaking the taboo of political and diplomatic relations with the fake regime."
He added that the new figures ruling the region, who are trying to normalize relations and recognize the Israeli regime, should be aware that this regime, except dishonor and eternal shame, will not bring them any more fruit.
