Iran Press/ Europe: Safar 20 in the Islamic lunar calendar, September 17, is the occasion of Arbaeen, which is 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala.
More than three million Iranian pilgrims, along with millions of pilgrims from Iraq and other countries, marked Arbaeen in Iraq’s Karbala on Saturday, the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam, after undertaking an 80-km walk between the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.
Young people of different nationalities, along with the Iranians living in Berlin, attended the procession.
