Tehran (IP) - The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution called the miraculous event of the Arbaeen procession a sign of God's will to raise the flag of Islam of the Ahl al-Bayt.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian university students gathered in Imam Khomeini Husseiniyeh in Tehran to attend a mourning ceremony for the Arbaeen (40th day) of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (as), an hour ago, with the leader of the revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in attendance.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said at this mourning ceremony: "The miraculous event of the Arbaeen walk cannot be realized with any human policy; it is God's hand that warns us that the way forward is clear."

Ayatollah Khamenei added: "This year's Arbaeen ceremony was held more magnificently than any other period in history."

Ayatollah Khamenei considered patience as the meaning of persevering, standing, not getting tired, and not seeing oneself at a dead end.

"The Arbaeen walk is the glorious flag of Hussain ibn Ali (pbuh)," he said.

"An event like the Arbaeen walk couldn’t have come about based on any human strategy or planning," he noted.

"This was only possible through God's will. It's obvious God is advancing the cause of seeking & turning to Islam, & He is raising the flag of the Ahlul Bayt’s Islam higher every day," the leader stressed."These groups & Heyats for Imam Hussain are a reliable, precious treasure; appreciate them. Heyats for Imam Hussain are for remembering as well as clarifying. Heyats should both keep these memories alive & be bases for clarification," the leader of the revolution noted.

"Follow the right path yourself and try to guide others to this path as well," he called the youth.

Today, Safar 20, September 17, is the occasion of Arbaeen, which is the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala.

Also, other groups of people started their rally from Imam Hussain (AS) Sq. and are gradually going toward Abdul Azim Hassani Shrine, south of Tehran.
