Tehran (IP) - Iran's Deputy Minister of Oil for International Affairs says Iran will increase oil export to Uzbekistan.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Islamic Republic of Iran has put the increase in cooperation with the central Asian countries on its agenda as a priority.

Ahmad Assadzadeh said Uzbekistan has two major oil refineries with a refining capacity of 230,000 barrels: "In the recent negotiations we had with Uzbekistani officials, it was decided to export Iranian oil to the country's refineries in order to revive and rebuild these refineries."

He said that the rest of the negotiations would be pursued in detail within four workgroups in the next week as the Uzbek delegation would visit Iran. 

Iran's President arrived in Uzbekistan on the invitation of his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, to take part in the 22nd Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
