Morocco (IP) Three Iranian Paralympic champions won the gold medals in Marrakech Grand Prix 2022.

Iran PressAfrica: Hamed Amiri, the Paralympic champion of the 2020 Summer Paralympics won the gold medal in the F54 class javelin.

Hamed Amiri is an Iranian Paralympic athlete. He won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F54 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Iran at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the silver medal in the men's shot put F55 event.

Amanullah Papi, the Iranian Paralympic athlete specializing in F57 javelin class, also won a gold medal. He represented Iran at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and won a silver medal.

Hashemiyeh Motaghian, the female Iranian Paralympic athlete who represented Iran at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, winning the gold medal in the Women's javelin throw F56 event, managed to grab the gold medal.

For the first time in history, Morocco hosts a World Para Athletics Grand Prix as the competition lands in Marrakech with the city receiving 359 athletes from 41 nations from 15 to 17 September (Thursday to Saturday). 

Nearly 120 track and field medal events will take place at the Grand Stadium de Marrakech with plenty of local stars to watch. 

This is also the first time the Grand Prix season has two stops in Africa, as Tunisia hosted the Tunis GP last July. 

Asia will be represented by 10 countries (Brunei, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Singapore, and the UAE) with the likes of Iran’s Hamed Amiri and Devendra Jhajharia from India among the Asian stars.
