Samarkand (IP) - The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that Tehran is ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan to benefit from the extensive scientific and technological achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressAsia: According to Iran Press News Agency, Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during the meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, on Thursday, referring to the historical, cultural, and civilizational commonalities of the two nations of Iran and Kyrgyzstan, considered the level of 80 million dollars of economic relations between the two countries to be very low and emphasized on the development of these relations to several times the current level.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to Iran's extensive scientific and technological progress despite the imposition of comprehensive sanctions, said that in addition to bilateral relations, the two countries of Iran and Kyrgyzstan could also work on regional cooperation with the presence of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

Japarov also appreciated Iran's medical assistance to the people of Kyrgyzstan during the Corona pandemic and said that the development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is the priority of the cooperation policy of the Kyrgyz government.

Emphasizing the development of transit cooperation between the two countries, the President of Kyrgyzstan considered the completion and launch of the Bandar Abbas-Central Asia strategic railway as an essential factor in developing economic cooperation between Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and demanded its completion as soon as possible.

Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, traveled to Uzbekistan on Wednesday at the official invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shaukat Mirzayev, at the head of a high-level political and economic delegation, for an official bilateral meeting and also to participate in the 22nd Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
