Tehran (IP) - In a telephone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart, the Foreign Minister offered special thanks to Iraq's people and government for their excellent hospitality toward Iranian pilgrims.

Iran PressIran news: Hossein Amirabdollahian, in his telephone conversation with Fuad Hussein, said the Iraqis gave the Iranian and non-Iranian Arbaeen pilgrims any assistance despite the participation of huge crowds in the mourning ceremonies, the restrictions, and the extreme heat.

The Iranian foreign minister also pointed to the strong presence of passionate pilgrims in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf, calling on Iranians to seriously heed the guidelines from the Arbaeen Headquarters and Iran's Interior Ministry.

A large number of Muslims and followers of other divine religions used to walk from the city of Najaf and other Iraqi cities to reach his holy shrine in Karbala paying respect to Imam Hussain (AS).
