Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Army Commander has reacted to the Navy’s encounter with two American maritime drones in the Red Sea, saying that Americans are not paying attention to the rights of nations and international laws.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian Navy seized two American maritime drones in the Red Sea to prevent naval accidents in the international shipping lane.

The Navy’s Jamaran destroyer encountered the “data collecting” vessels during a routine operation aimed at securing shipping routes and confronting piracy and maritime terrorism, the Navy said in a statement on Thursday.

The incident came only two days after the naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) briefly seized one such American unmanned surface vessel that had been stranded in the Persian Gulf.

Referring to the incident, Iran’s Army Commander, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, told the reporters: “Americans are not paying attention to the rights of nations and international laws.”

He said the American vessels, which are engaged in a data collecting mission, are released regardless of the passage area of ​​other vessels, and safety is not observed.

Referring to the actions of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran’s Army Commander said that guard planes of the Islamic Republic of Iran are constantly flying and monitoring the borders.

Major General  Mousavi, in response to a question from an Iran Press reporter, said: “The actions of the army on land, sea and air are constantly evolving.”

Mousavi emphasized that the smallest unauthorized entry into the borders will be dealt with decisively.

He added that Iran’s Navy continues to protect the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the maintenance of shipping lines, commercial lines and oil tankers.
