Mohammad Rastad the deputy minister of road and urban development and deputy managing director for maritime affairs at the ministry has emphasized that the presence of an international operator at the port of Chabahar means more goods and commodities can enter the port from India, significantly increasing the volume of goods transiting through the port of Chabahar.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday, Mohammad Rastad said the international operator will provide machinery and equipment which will significantly raise efficiency of operations at the port.

The deputy minister of road and urban development added: "Overall we can say that the competitiveness and competitive advantage of Chabahar port, and the (north-south) corridor, will be increased because of the presence of an international operator at the port."
