Tehran (IP) - Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran said it was following up on the release of the Iranian Hajji who was jailed in Saudi Arabia.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian Haj pilgrim Kalil Dardmand was detained by the Saudi Security forces one week after the end of the 2022 Hajj ritual.  

Saudis arrested Dardmand because he took a selfie photo next to Ka'ba while having in his hand a picture of Martyr Lt. Gen. Qassem Solemani.   

Meeting with the family of the Iranian Detained Hajji, Iran's Foreign Minister said: "In this regard, we have received promises of assistance from Saudi Arabia."

Kazem Gharibabdi, the Secretary of the Human Rights Staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported the ongoing efforts to free the Iranian pilgrim and recalled that the Hajji perpetuated no crime. 

Khalil Dardmand had participated in Hajj rituals with his mother.
