New York (IP)- Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran, left New York so that the newly appointed Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations will soon go for his mission.

Iran PressIran news: "Amir Saeed Iravani," the new ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in New York, was previously the secretary of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations and the deputy foreign policy and international security of the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, as well as Iran's Chargé d'Affaires in Iraq.

Takht-Ravanchi, in his recent tweet, said: "Today, I bid farewell as Iran's UN Ambassador."

"It's been my honor to represent a proud nation and historical civilization and to be able to defend the rights of the Iranian people on the world stage for over three years," he added. 

At the farewell ceremony with Iranian diplomats at Iran's representation office in the United Nations, Takht-Ravanchi described his successor "Amir Saeed Iravani" as a capable and very good-mannered diplomat.
