The Justice minister and visiting prosecutor general of the Azerbaijan Republic in a meeting agreed on the need to expand bilateral legal and judicial relations.

Iran PressIran News: Amin-Hossein Rahimi referred to the age-old relations between the two countries and said that the upcoming state visit of the president of Azerbaijan to Iran is a sign of the high level of bilateral political relations, and comprehensive cooperation.

"Legal and judiciary interactions and cooperation between the two countries is expanding, and keeping in mind the upcoming Joint Economic Commission, it is necessary to implement its ratifications effectively," said Rahimi.

The justice minister went on to say, "The neighboring countries’ stability and security equals Iran’s stability and security."

He said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has dedicated 4,000 martyrs in the campaign against narcotic drugs trafficking," adding that the largest producer of narcotics in the world has long shared borders with Iran.

"Despite the heavy losses and lots of hardships in the campaign against drug trafficking it is very important for us that the other countries will be free from this nuisance, and therefore, our tremendous campaign in this respect has always been praised by the UN," IRNA quoted the Iranian judiciary minister as saying.

For his part, the prosecutor general of the Azerbaijan Republic expressed satisfaction over the expanding trend of bilateral relations and said that the Iran-Azerbaijan relation date back to a remote past in history.

He said that the high-level political ties between the two countries has led to the expansion of comprehensive relations and cooperation, including in the legal and judiciary field, so that as the judiciary forces of the two countries, we could also resolve the probable difficulties in other fields, such as in our bilateral commercial and trade field.
