Iran Press/ Iran News: On the sidelines of the portable Gamma Irradiation System launching on Thursday, Mohammad Eslami said that the AEOI will install the system in 12 zones as the logistic centers until mid-March.
The multi-purpose system uses low doses of gamma irradiation for disinfection, germination control, and pests to the storage duration by reducing the microbial load and destroying microorganisms.
Eslami also said, about 30% of the country's waste in agriculture and food would be significantly controlled. The portable Gamma Irradiation System was developed in East Azerbaijan Province, northwestern Iran.
