The leader of the Islamic Revolution attended the second night of the mourning ceremony of Imam Hussain (AS).

Iran Press/Iran news: The second night of mourning ceremonies, marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) was held at Imam Khomeini's Hosseinieh, attended by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The mourning ceremony for Imam Hussain (AS), the third Shia Imam of the world, will be held from the 7th night to the 12th night of Muharram 1444 Hijri for 6 nights in Imam Khomeini's (RA) Husseiniyeh in Tehran.

The third Shia Imam (AS) and a small group of his followers and family members were martyred by the tyrant of his time - Yazid Bin Muawiya, in the battle of Karbala on the tenth day of Muharram (known as Ashura) in the year 680 AD.
