Qom(IP) - The mourning ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS) was held on the second night of the month of Muharram in Qom's Khadim Al-Reza (AS) confraternity, with the large presence of Imam Hussain mourners, especially young people.

Iran PressIran news: The mourning ceremony of the "Lord of the Martyrs" (Imam Hossein) (PBUH) and his companions will be held at the same time as the beginning of the month of Muharram in 1444 AH in the mosques and religious confraternities of Qom with the large attendance of people and especially youth.

Imam Hossein or Al-Hossein Ibn Ali (PBUH), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad and third Shia Imam, was martyred on the 10th day of the month of Muharram by Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad's army in the Battle of Karbala in 61 AH (680 CE).

Muslims, especially Shias, every year mark Tasua, Ashura, and Arbaeen.

Ashura is the ten-day of Muharram, which is a coincidence with the martyrdom of Imam Hussein

The mourning ceremony of Khadim al-Reza (PBUH) confraternity of Qom was held on Saturday night with the speech of Senior cleric Eliasi and the eulogy of Reza Tahvildar and Hassan Atai, with the large presence of the mourners of Imam Hossein (PBUH).

The mourning ceremonies will continues every night in the month of Muharram.

The Holy city of Qom is covered in black at the beginning of the month of Muharram, and in addition to the sacred shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (SA), religious groups and mosques also host mourners (PBUH).
