Tehran (IP) - The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company explained the strategic relations between Iran and Russia, aiming to develop the oil fields of the two countries.

Iran PressIran News: Gazprom of Russia is one of the largest international companies in the field of oil and gas field development.

During the recent visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Iran, a 40-billion-dollar oil memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries.

Mohsen Khojsteh Mehr, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, referring to the oil MoU between Iran and Russia worth forty billion dollars, said: "The contract for the development of 7 oil fields worth 4 billion dollars has been signed with the Russians and it is progressing under the sanctions."

Referring to the 40-billion-dollar memorandum of understanding between this company and Russia's Gazprom, Khojesteh Mehr added: "We will not miss any opportunity to attract financial resources in this industry and seek to attract capital from domestic sources including banks and holdings of large industries and external sources including finance from different countries."

CEO of National Iranian Oil Company also said: "One of the plans of National Oil Company to attract foreign investment is to use the capacity of Russian companies."

The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company has emphasized that Iran and Russia's gas reserves are 70 trillion cubic meters in total and include 30% of the world's gas reserves, and these two countries are the frontrunner in gas energy supply in the world.
