Tehran (IP) - Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri, in a meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, said: Iran and Turkey have many areas of common cooperation, including in counter-terrorism, regional issues, border cooperation, and interactions in the military industry sector.

Iran PressIran news: Emphasizing the expansion of relations and the increase of military relations between the two countries, Bagheri said: There should be more bilateral meetings between the two countries' military officials.

He added: "Iran cares about to Turkey's concerns in border disputes that are made by the villains on the borders of the two countries, and has always taken steps to resolve misunderstandings."

The Iranian official noted: The Islamic Republic of Iran has increased its forces on the border with Turkey in order to minimize illegal traffic.

For his part, the Minister of Defense of Turkey also emphasized increasing the military cooperation of the two countries in the region and countering terrorism and border cooperation and said that the two countries' military cooperation should be concluded within the framework and provisions that have been proposed in the past.
