In a phone call with the European Union foreign policy chief, Iran's Foreign Minister stated that the US should put aside extravagant demands and take realistic steps toward reaching a solution and agreement.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in this telephone conversation, appreciated the continuous efforts of the European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell and Enrique Mora, the deputy in charge of the foreign policy of the European Union.

Amir-Abdollahian also referred to his recent talks with the foreign ministers of Italy and France, and emphasized that the US should stop repeating the ineffective approach of the past and resorting to pressure and sanctions.

In another part of this telephone conversation, Amir-Abdollahian explained Iran's approach to food security and energy security by referring to the tripartite meeting between the presidents of Iran, Russia, and Turkey in Tehran.

Iran's foreign minister also referred to his recent conversation with Ukraine's foreign minister and added that facilitating the export of Ukrainian grains is of great importance.

In this telephone conversation, the head of the European Union's foreign policy also emphasized the necessity of presenting and summarizing the ideas of the parties in the current situation, appreciating the positive and serious will of the Iranian side in the negotiation process so far.

Iran and the US engaged in indirect talks in the Qatari capital of Doha, which were held in early July and mediated by the European Union. The talks are aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal and lifting sanctions on Iran. 219
