Tehran (IP) - The first "National Conference of White Tulips" to commemorate health martyrs, who sacrificed their lives during the more than two-year fight against the pandemic, was held in Tehran in the presence of the Minister of Health, national and military officials, and the families of health martyrs.

Iran PressIran News: During the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran, more than 300 health defenders died.

In this ceremony, Health Minister Bahram Einollahi pointed to the culture of self-sacrifice among the Iranians throughout history and said that after the Islamic Revolution, self-sacrifice neutralized the enemy's plots in our country.

Einollahi added that the enemies tried to increase the country's problems by sanctioning medicine and food in the coronavirus era, but the Iranian scientists and researchers neutralized their plots with sacrifice and solidarity.

At this conference, the vice president and head of Iran's Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh Hashemi, said that "society needs to show heroes; and martyrs defending health are the heroes of our society who sacrificed their lives during the coronavirus pandemic."

Also, at the ceremony, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Health Ministry and the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs to record the events, incidents and memories that happened during the coronavirus.

At the end of this ceremony, the families of martyrs defending health were also honored.
