Tehran (IP) - Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary of the I.R. of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, criticised the support of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, against the illegal sentence of the Swedish court against Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen.

Iran PressIran news: Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen, was arrested by the country's security forces on November 9, 2019, upon his arrival in Sweden to settle family disputes with his adopted daughter, and has been in prison for about 32 months.

Nouri has been accused by the Swedish prosecutor's office of being involved in the alleged incidents related to 34 years ago in Iran; The plaintiffs in this case are mainly members of the terrorist outfit, the MKO.

The terrorist Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), founded in 1965 in Iran, was labeled as the organization of hypocrites by the late Imam Khomeini a few years after the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979.

In this regard, on Thursday, the Swedish court sentenced Nouri to life imprisonment based on the charges of the terrorist group of the hypocrites.

According to Iran press, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Secretary of the I.R. of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, strongly criticized Javid Rehman the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran's support for the Swedish court's verdict against Hamid Nouri and wrote on Twitter:

"It is extremely disappointing that Javid Rehman has chosen to publicly support arbitrary detention and sham trial of an Iranian citizen instead of calling out the Swedish authorities and holding them to account for the gross violations of fundamental human rights of the victim.1"

Gharibabadi further pointed out: "Javid Rehman's press release in support of a grave injustice is yet another indication of his inherent inclination to use his UK-sponsored mandate for a self-aggrandizing campaign to please Iran's adversaries at the cost of sacrificing the basic principles of human rights.2"

Since the beginning of the Islamic revolution, the terrorist outfit of the MKO has assassinated more than 17 thousand Iranian citizens in various terrorist operations.

This terrorist outfit has close ties with America and its allies, including Britain.
