Iran Press/ Asia: In a meeting with Secretary of Security Council of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov, Ali Shamkhani considered continuous support for peace and stability in the region as one of the main strategies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated that the domination system and ill-wishers of the two nations should not be allowed to harm the fraternal relations of the two countries.
Referring to the common civilizational, historical, religious and cultural roots of the two countries, Shamkhani called the expansion and deepening of relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan an essential part of Iran's foreign policy.
Referring to the continuation of the evil deeds of the Israeli regime, which is pursued with the aim of infiltrating the security mechanisms of the region, he pointed out that the Israeli regime, as the main center of evil and insecurity in the region, is now facing political crises and internal economic and social challenges and is trying to reduce internal pressures by transferring internal crises to the region.
Referring to the religious, cultural and civilizational commonalities of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan as an exceptional opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations, Usubov, for his part, said that the issue of security and lasting stability in the region is one of the important priorities of the two countries.
He expressed hope that Shamkhani's visit to Baku would become a turning point in bilateral relations and remove some artificial obstacles in Tehran-Baku ties.
The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council arrived in Baku on Friday to meet and exchange views on important regional and international issues with high-ranking officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
