Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) says the country's trade with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has increased by 29%.

Iran PressIran news: Rouhollah Latifi said that during the current year's spring 12.340 million tons of goods worth over $9.850 billion were traded between Iran and the 11 countries of SCO, which shows a 29% growth compared to the last year's spring. 

Latifi said that in the trade Iran exported 10.213 million tons of goods worth over $5.5 billion to the SCO member states. 

China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan were the first five destinations of Iran's exports, among the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, he added.

Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and Mongolia were the next destinations of the exports, according to the spokesman of Iran's Customs Administration.  

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an international intergovernmental organization established on June 15, 2001, in Shanghai by China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, with India and Pakistan becoming the permanent members in 2017.

Iran is going through the process of getting permanent membership in SCO.
