Samarkand(IP): The Speaker of Iran's Parliament entered Samarkand along with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uzbekistan during his trip to Uzbekistan.

Iran PressAsia: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Parliament, traveled to Tashkent on Tuesday to meet and consult with the authorities of Uzbekistan.

According to Iran Press, the visit of the Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by the Speaker of the Islamic Council to Samarkand was carried out to examine the tourism and cultural capacities and remove obstacles to the industrial development of Tourism between Iran and Uzbekistan.

On Wednesday, the Chairman of the Islamic Council had separate meetings and talks with the President of Uzbekistan, the heads of the legislative assemblies, and the Senate of this country.

In these meetings, the necessity for all-around development of relations on various economic, parliamentary, and tourist issues was emphasized.

Holding a joint meeting with Iranian businessmen and producers active in the Uzbekistan market was one of the other plans of the Speaker of the parliament and the Iranian parliamentary delegation.

The Islamic Republic of Iran recognized the independence of Uzbekistan on December 25, 1991, and political relations between the two countries were established on May 10, 1992.
