Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Interior called on the Afghan authorities to inform their border guard forces about the legal issues of borders.

Iran PressIran News: There have been some incidents at the border since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan last year. That is to say since the Taliban were not familiar with legal issues on the border, such incidents have occurred.

In January, an Iranian foreign ministry official said that the reason behind the clashes between Iranian forces and the Taliban was the lack of professional conduct by the latter.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press regarding the recent tensions with the Taliban forces in the border areas, Iran's Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi said that some of the Afghan border guard forces were not familiar with the legal issues on the border, which subsequently led to the border tensions.

"We seriously advise the Afghan authorities inform their border guards about [the legal] issues to prevent such cases," Vahidi noted.

He told Iran Press that since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, four or five cases of border tensions happened, which were solved by the authorities' explanations in Kabul.
