Almaty (IP) - After the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Iran, the two countries agreed on the expansion of economic and tourism cooperation, and from July 8, the country has introduced a unilateral visa-free regime for up to 14 days for Iranians citizen.

Iran PressAsia: From July 8, Kazakhstan has introduced a unilateral visa-free regime for up to 14 days for citizens of Iran, India, and China, the press service of the Migration Service Committee informs.

The visa-free regime does not grant the right to work or perform any paid activity in Kazakhstan. For this, one should get a work permit in advance.

Iranian ambassador to Kazakhstan Majid Samadzadeh Saber, in an interview with an Iranpress in Almaty, said: "During the visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Iran on June 19, excellent agreements were made between the two countries, one of which was the granting visa-free situation for Iranians to enter and stay in Kazakhstan without visa for up to 14 calendar days from the moment of border crossing."

The Iranian ambassador added: "On July 8, 2022, the law was signed by the President of Kazakhstan, and from now on, Iranians can travel to Kazakhstan without a visa and stay in the country for up to two weeks."

Majid Saber stated that the law would expand tourism cooperation, communication, and the development of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries. The presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Iran have decided to increase the trade between the two countries to 3 billion dollars a year.

With the agreements between Iran and Kazakhstan, the cooperation between the two countries will expand rapidly, and now there are flights between Iran and Kazakhstan.

Ali Mofidi, CEO of Hamsafran Tourism Company of Mashhad, which is the operator of Iran Airlines to Kazakhstan, said in an interview with IranPress: "Currently, there are two weekly flights from Tehran to Almaty and Gorgan to the port of Aktau, Kazakhstan, and the number of flights can increase with the increase of passengers."

Mofidi said many Kazakhstan are health tourists in Iran, and the free-visa law will significantly help the procedure.
